Angel at the Empty Tomb
After Jesus was dead and was buried; women came early on Easter morning and found his tomb empty with an angel in it. The angel com- forted the women with the words of Jesus' resurrection that are the hope of all who believe: "he is not here, he is risen, just as he said."

Alice Pond Steadman was born December 27, 1867. She married Benjamin F. Fridge, a widower from Louisiana, who had two sons. Together they had eleven children.

Mr. and Mrs. Fridge lived in Ellisville, Mississippi where he was a merchant and also owned a hotel named “Hotel Alice”. The family later moved to New Orleans where he was also a merchant. About 1920 Mr. Fridge retired and they moved to Mobile, living in the DeTonti Square area. They later built a small store near their home.

After Mr. Fridge died in the early thirties, Mrs. Fridge lived with some of her children. At the time of her death, November 18, 1955, Mrs. Fridge was living in Atmore with her daughter, Mrs. E. F. (Addie) Goldsmith. She and Mr. Fridge are buried in Pine Crest Cemetery in Mobile, Alabama.

This stained glass window, in memory of Alice Pond Steadman Fridge, was given by her grandson, Charles F. Fridge, Jr., who was a member of First Presbyterian Church for a brief period of time having joined by letter on December 13, 1953. His father, Charles F. IIE> Fridge, Sr., joined First Presbyterian Church on July 8, 1923 by letter from the Greenville Presbyterian Church located in Greenville, Alabama. He was elected to serve as a deacon in 1923 and again in 1963.
